last one then i'm going to eat a tuna salad...

working on a recording of Lee Ann Brown's lecture "Poetry In The 4th Dimension: A Math-Poetry Reader With Chance Operations," delivered at Naropa July 4th 1992. A seemingly off the cuff presentation centered mostly around Oulipian methods of aleatory madness. Brown read one of her own "N + 7" with "Lipogram" poems titled "A Present Bow: Epithamalion For Stacy Doris And Chet Wiener," which caught my ear and tickled my funny bone...a line "a best behest/ in you says..."

As I was reading your blog, song lyrics to World Destruction by Zone Time entered my head...I don't know why. Honestly, I've never even heard the song. And in fact, I just stole the lyrics from a site after a search for something having to do with a project I'm working on:

Speak of the destruction. (x3) (remember John, that's three times repeat)

This is a world destruction, your life ain't nothing.
The human race is becoming a disgrace. (int rhyme?)
Countries are fighting with chemical warfare.
Not giving a damn about the people who live there.
Nostradamus predicts the coming of the Antichrist.
Hey, look out, the third world nations are on the rise. (well, if we don't paralyze them w economic strategies first)
The Democratic-Communist Relationship,
won't stand in the way of the Islamic force.
The CIA is looking for you.(You, John, YOU.)
The KGB is smarter than you think. (I told you, man.)
Brainwash mentalities to control the system.
Using TV and movies - religions of course.
Yes, the world is headed for destruction.
Is it a nuclear war?
What are you asking for? (so the question arises. If I were to answer this question, I'd say "Zone World...or whatever your band name is, I'm asking for a burito the size of a Honda Civic, I'm looking for a snickers the size of a baby leg, I'm looking for a new scanner, cheap card stock, a nice stamp-making company in or around Boulder...that's all I can think of now Zone World.")

This is a world destruction. Your life ain't nothing. (again?)
The human race is becoming a disgrace. (these lyrics are becoming mighty familiar.)
The rich get richer.
The poor are getting poorer.
Fascist, chauvinistic government fools. (I'd change fools to tools...for the double meaning.)
People, Moslems, Christians and Hindus. (I really didn't realize before this song that people would be a category in this list...that must be why I bombed the SAT's...)
Are in a time zone still searching for the truth.
Who are you to think you're a superior race? (who? Who, John? WHO??)
Facing forth your everlasting doom. (nice poetic sound.)
We are Time Zone. We've come to drop a bomb on you.
World destruction, kaboom, kaboom, kaboom! (brilliant!)

This is the world destruction, your life ain't nothing.
The human race is becoming a disgrace. (wow, I think we've memorized the lyrics...this could be a singalong)
Nationalities are fighting with each other.
Why is this? Because the system tells you. (I see)
Putting people in faceless categories.
Knowledge isn't what it used to be.
Military tactics to control a nation.
Who wants to be a president or king? Me! (and John, maybe?)
Mother Nature is gonna work against you.
Nothing in your power that you can do.
Yes, the world is headed for destruction.
You and I know it, cause the Bible tells you.
If we don't start to look for a better life,
the whole world will be destroyed in a time zone! (yes, but how a time zone destroys in another question in itself. I'm thinking about when you fly from Houston to Tokyo and it take around 15 hours, but it's really 12 hours earlier (or is it later) when you get there...and how I've imagined if you kept flying back and forth you could live timelessly...like Jesus or Elvis, maybe Joan of Ark...you know, one of the big guys)
