oof.ick.poof.ack.herm...eneutics...

okay! just got done (about an hour ago) with writing 5 pages of my thesis on this Michael Palmer poem from his 1974 book The Circular Gates...

The Whale

The whale
A jar disintegrates
or breaks. I pick up the pieces
of the second voice

and the other pieces
more slowly
since we're leaving
A blue marker

and a rounded Japanese
flower. The pieces
have almost disappeared
behind the key

I pick up the pieces
of one and three
They fit
as if they

were made for it
from a dark liquid
gone hazy at the edge
They fit

...i'm not going to talk about it anymore, i just wanted to post it...okay, well, basically i focused on Palmer's letting the poem unfold the subject with regards to Olson's notion of the "lyrical interference of the ego" and Palmer's own "It’s an act of dicipline of attention...incorporation of the immediate and the rupture of the single unitary voice, and the rupture of any unitary mode-tone, subject, and so on." (Pavement 7. Palmer)...boom...

so, broke down and finally ordered MAC OS X.3 Tiger from apple...i got it on student discount for 70 bucks...not bad...now i'll finally be able to print AND use my ipod...

now i must do a quick workout and then shower...

...currently listening to Neutral Milk Hotel In An Aeroplane Over The Sea...
