Is Michael suggesting a follow up poetics anthology which wd assist the "average reader" (equally suspect) to have an *in* for the more exclusive works? Like the (unfortunate, but somewhat useful) Gioia *20th-century American Poetics*?

    That'd be cool.

well, maybe that's one of the main misconceptions about this anthology project, or ANY anthology project for that matter (was the jarnot/stroffolino/schwartz anthology for the average reader?). jessica and i haven't at all entertained thoughts about curating for the "average reader," just the opposite in fact, this anthology, we are hoping, will be a record for the contributors and all other interested peoples. of course we welcome the average reader (and i take that term to mean people with only passing interests in poetry) but aren't interested in guiding the anthology-horse in that direction...

the anthology, we hope, will be for the community...
