Embodied Poetics...

performance is tonight at 7:30 at the Nalanda campus (Black Box Theater)...3 of my poems have been choreographed as some sort of performance piece, i'm not privy to what sort, we'll see tonight...

coincidently,
  • Zafusy
  • just published one of the poems that will be performed tonight in their 10th issue...

...have your cake and eat it too: yeah, so, Selena and i found a way to go out last night AND meet up with Akilah...cocktails and sushi...Selena's friend works the bar at the sushi joint, so he kept feeding us all sorts of colorful shots chased with Sake...that was fun...he then ordered for us...which was great because whatever he ordered was some of the best sushi i've ever eaten....and i'm a Bay Area kid, we're practically breast fed on sushi (that makes no sense but you get the sentiment)...and then Selena puts down her card to pay and i take out my card and am all "no way, this is your NYU acceptance dinner..." and she's all "no way this is your MFA dinner..." and Ryan (the bartender) is all "neither of you guys are paying...congratulations on your thesis..."...gratis!!!...what a great guy!...amazing dinner...loved it...loved Ryan...amazing Ryan...

afterwards went back to the Catacombs, met up with the birthday party gang...saw Jamba and Erin...i want to hug those two all day...

Mr. And Mrs. Smith- i remember this movie getting trashed...right? i liked it...sort of John Woo meets The Burbs...

...currently listening to Sunspot Jonz Child Ov The Storm...

Mr. & Mrs. Smith: I remember not remembering anything about that movie, besides a lot of hype because whatsername and whatsisname got divorced. Not seeing it might have been the reason.

So did you call your sushi chef "taicho"?

the sushi chef was a young white guy...for shame huh? it was great, after they closed the bar he came out eating a pizza slice...he's like "hey, yeah, i just fixed your dinner...chomp!"...

    hilarious...

As long as the sushi's good, man, as long as the sushi's good. Personally, I have a thing for tamago sushi (fish eggs), yellowtail, tuna and salmon. Nothing fancy.

I remember a bit more than Francois because I read the Village Voice review of the movie.

Dennis Lim used talked about the "freakish hotness of the tabloid wet dream that is the Brangelina." and ruined it for me with

"The prospect of a hot hate fuck looms tantalizingly, but Liman defuses the sexual simmer much too early with a PG-13 reconciliation"

    Sometimes the VV is OK.
