The Gateway Arch? Yeah, that was designed by Eero Saarinen to celebrate the centenary of that first bridge that crossed the Missouri river. Tallest thing in St. Louis. Pretty rad, actually, even though I don't think Johnny would fit in the trolley to go on top (I could barely fit there). And the baked ravioli? Awesome too. If you're in St. Louis, you should give a try to Schlafly, their local beer.

I hereby formally protest all this love for St. Louis.

Kansas City gave the world Buck O'Neil, Charlie Parker, John Greiner, ORTH, KC style BBQ, the ROYALS, and countless other wonderful artifacts of culture and circumstance. St. Louis is just, you know, Illinois.

Not to sound like a hyperpatriotoxenophobe or nothin.

Is Brandon's dislike of St. Louis motivated by their humiliation at the hands of the Mets? Because, you know, St. Louis gave us the West.

brandon is from KCMO. in fact, in some way i'd say we're all from KCMO...

    HW,

I have a hunch Rock Creek Park (in Washington, DC) may be larger than Forrest Park (and presumably both are larger than Central Park).

    Okay, now attempting facts.
<< At 1,293 acres (5.2 km²), Forest Park is considerably larger than Central Park. >> (Wikipedia)

    and
<< The main section of the park contains 1754 acres (7 km²) along the Rock Creek Valley — more than twice the size of Central Park in New York City. In addition to the other green areas the park administers, (Glover Archbold Park, Montrose Park, Dumbarton Oaks Park, Meridian Hill Park, Battery Kemble Park, Palisades Park, Whitehaven Park, etc.) it is over 2,000 acres (8 km²).>> (Wikipedia).

The only (maybe) trick part, is you had said "within a city." RCP certainly is "in" DC -- but some of it would seem to extend beyond DC (to the north -- into Maryland).
    Still...

and golden gate park is bigger than central park. i remember hearing something about it being the largest man made park in the country (?).

"Golden Gate Park is the largest urban park in San Francisco, California, USA. At 1017 acres (4.1 km²), it is in the shape of a long rectangle, similar in shape but 174 acres (0.7 km²) larger than Central Park in New York."

I thought the City Hall of St. Louis was between Busch Stadium and Edward Jones Stadium, two blocks west of Washington?
