"So what does surreal dance music and hallucianegenic drugs have to do with a policitcal movemnt, stem cell research, gentrification and hybrid cars? To begin, Hyphy is not specific to Oakland. In fact, the most recognized players in the movement, Mac Dre and E40—are from a town called Vallejo. Hyphy is all bay, all day. Frisco, Oakland, San Jo, Vallejo, Daly City, Fairfield, even Concord (our own little Jersey), is Hyphy."
—Russell from I'm From Rolling Stone (from his Hyphy article)
...we call Concord "the armpit of the Bay"...i like Russell's "our own little Jersey" too...

morning my mags,
i'll find the article and send it to you.
have you been watching I'm From Rolling Stone? it's a pretty great show on MTV that nobody watches, the finale is next sunday at 10, which i'm sure no one will watch. anyway, Russell is from that show, as are 2 other Bay Area/ SF Staters!!!
here's a Bay Area character guide:
Russell: ham but cool/ very good writer
Krish: twat but total twat/ only knows how to write about hip hop
Colin: nice but tourist
...are you coming over today? i'll read you Whitley Strieber books and feed you nutella.
ding ding! yeah, krish is the asian girl who embarasses herself by speaking with a "hood" accent and saying things like "i grew up with the struggle"...she's the worst.
i'm on deadline today. i haven't even started the article/ interview...well, i've done the interview, i just need to make it into an article...and i don't want to, boo hoo.
it's like 80 in concord today. yes, let's ride bikes.
