the whole thing with bill clinton calling obama's record on the war a "fairytale"...and then some black leaders calling racism.

or...

bill clinton calling obama's record on the war a "fairytale" and then the news does a report using hilary's remark about LBJ/MLK tying in the "fairytale" comment and then interviews a bunch of pundits all "are these racial overtones going to hurt the Clinton campaing in the long run?"...

so, what does "fairytale" mean to them that it doesn't mean to me? in other words, i think the statement "Obama's record on the war is a fairytale" is pretty innocuous...but then some people think it's racist? help?

Clinton called Obama's campaign (not record on the war) a fairytale; the implication is that there is no way Obama could ever be elected because of his race, his campaign is a fairytale. That is how the comment has been interpreted.

hey gina,

actually the context was specifically about obama's stance on the iraq war. but yeah, people are/were alleging that it was leveled against his campaign as a whole, which is ridiculous, clinton has come out and said "obama's campaign is *not* a fairytale...he might win."

but anybody who finds racial over/undertones in the word 'fairytale' is a complete douche with a serious case of martyr syndrome.

by the way, i'm 100% obama.
