No, you're not. On the other hand, Iron Man was extremely entertaining.
that's what everyone keeps saying...from my mom to andrew pai.
speed racer has that Tron vibe...but Tron from 20 years post...like watching Tron in the mid-90's and going "ha, can you believe we actually thought these graphics were cutting ege when it first came out...?"
I watched part of it and didn't care an ounce. I think that maybe this one is more for the kids...although they probably don't know what the hell speed racer is.
tron was/ is fucking awesome. i love the look of those graphics/ "special" effects. tron is a great movie.
and iron man was good, though it had no story and the end "battle" was just plain stupid.
speed racer definitely seems irrelevant. i don't think it resonates the same way other "for nostalgia's sake" movies might.
I liked (but not loved) Iron Man for the little details Jon Favreau had put through the movie for the people who read the comics in the 1980s. Like the mansion Tony Stark lives in. Exact replica of the one from the comic. And I am sure there were other things for those who still read the book nowadays.
But yes, that last fight was stupid. But well, it's a superhero movie.
