that was a good run.
definitely not a MOR run.
i'm thinking Adam's Point Lake Merritt, Oakland.
reminds me of LA hills. Art Deco and foliage.
is Mother a good movie?
is Blackbird a good bar? i'm going on a date tomorrow at Blackbird. my recommendation.
Sulfur #4 isn't very good (except for Pierre Joris's review of Robert Bly's Rilke translations). Combo #7 is really not good (except for Summi Kaipa's diaristic poems).
i bought a hard drive because i ran out of memory.
it's weird leaving San Francisco. i just can't believe how much i can afford in Oakland.
what i'm looking forward to most, besides having my own place, is having an eat-in kitchen.
i'm thinking about going to Jenner this weekend. i should probably stay home and look for apartments.
i'm reading with CS Giscombe sometime in the next couple weeks. more details later.

i loved life in oakland.
miss walking around the lake.
all the birds, and turtles.
and the little farm near the bird park.
used to pick lavender there, and dry it.
stsssssss=stephen boyer yo
stssssssss,
i'm pretty excited actually. and scared and nervous. i've been in SF for 10 years. it's my home. i didn't want to leave but i'm completely priced out, didn't realize how much until i asked my building manager what the new rent for our apartment would be after we moved out. he said $2400. for a not so big 2 bedroom apt in the lower haight, $2400! i asked him how much 1 bedrooms were going for in the neighborhood, he said $1700...it hit me then that i was done with SF living. i love my roommate but i'm very ready to live on my own. and that ain't happening in SF for $1700...oakland on the other hand has myriad desirable 1 bedroom apartments in a few desirable neighborhoods going for $950 to $1050, which is my price range. i can't believe how beautiful, and spacious these places are. i was telling laura moriarty yesterday that it's like i'm looking for rentals in the mid-west how cheap they are...but it's just oakland! and only 15 miles from SF...i'm looking forward to getting to know my new city. miss you stephen...come back and visit.
yeah man, oakland is great and bart to sf is easy... and the great thing that i did when i lived in oakland was spend about 5 days a week hanging out in Oakland and then go crash at a friends in SF for a day or two when I needed the buzz of SF... It's a good lifestyle... and it's easy to go back and forth for the daily small stuff that you gotta do in SF... Berkeley Bowl is great for food, as well as all the awesome Vietnamese Sandwhich shops in West Oakland (I MISS THOSE PLACES SO MUCH)... $1 for a huge sandwhich... what?????? anyway, enjoy enjoy enjoy.. i think about going back but finding a job in the bay area, is that possible yet?
