Fleet Week
it's Fleet Week in San Francisco and everybody's favorite royal blue cherubs are currently tearing up the skies...
i'm not sure how i feel about the Blue Angels. on the one hand i'm all "it's loud, it's scary, it's like a militaristic version of peacock feathering, it scares the hell out of neighborhood dogs, i don't like it"...on the other hand i'm all "neato, big blue shiny things zipping through the sky, cooooooool!!!"...
i think it's probably 50/50.
i think it's pretty easy to say "i don't like it because it reminds me of war"...i think war veterans (civilians and soldiers alike) can say that but i don't think chai drinking San Franciscans can say that...i think saying "it reminds me of war" is faddish. all the popular kids are saying that.
i don't know, i have no point. i'm extremely ambiguous about having a point of view on this one.
in regards to the Blue Angels, Caitlin just texted me "meh"...and yeah, i'm thinking meh too...

no shit, dude. and the show is going on over aquatic park, right where i fucking work. hearing and seeing that shit buzz right by my little office window for 5 fucking hours straight does not do my nerves any good. i fucking hate it, man. hate it! they blow!
i'm thinking meh as well. but this little marxist thinks it's still kinda nice. you know, war planes used in a non-military manner.
they are not being used in a non-military manner. They are being used in a military manner, absolutely.
thx for reminding me that i wanted a chai. my day just got 48 times better.
